The theme of this youth initiative project was how artistic creative processes of urban culture, like street art and graffiti, can be placed at the service of communities. This project was developed in July 2012, and was directed to 20 youngsters from 15 to 30 year old, motivated for developing their creative skills, learn more about urban culture, be actively involved in the community and help local institutions rehabilitating their facilities, by planning and implementing a creative project and new ideas and concepts, using different techniques and materials.
It was developed in six phases, following a logic of co-construction and youth involvement. The group were exploring community to recognize local culture and way of life and they made the decision what institution they want to work with. They were visiting exibitions and places which helped them to be more aware of artistic movements of urban culture. They had access to workshops that were introducing new concepts, techniques and materials which were be used to create an artistic project, always with the help of artists/facilitators, who supported them trough all the process.
